High-performance electric cars are becoming more and more popular on the markets across the world. In order to keep up with competition, German manufacturer will soon release new 2020 Porsche Taycan. A few days ago, new Porsche Taycan for 2020 was photographed during road testing. These spy shots reveals that Taycan is getting closer to the production model. We could see Taycan prototype with production ready headlights up front, as well as the taillights around back. Rumor has it that 2020 Taycan prototype spotted is running on production wheels as well. Speaking of exterior design, 2020 Taycan borrows some design cues from 911 model, as well as from 918 Spyder and Panamera. Production of upcoming Porsche Taycan for 2020 will be done on all-new J1 platform, which was specially designed to be used on all-electric cars. Taycan will be equipped with four-wheel steering, as well as advanced torque vectoring. Large portion of weight on all-electric cars are regarding batteries. So proper placement is crucial for optimal weight distribution and overall performance. Porsche placed lithium-ion batteries between the axles. Taycan will have two driving modes. Maximum range for 2020 Taycan is said to be 310 miles, although this is not confirmed. However, anything above 250 miles is great. Porsche has also announced that they are developing all-new 800-volt charging system. What this means is that Porsche electric cars will be getting 350 kW charging rate through Porsche socket. Translating this into time, it will need only 15 minutes to reach 80% charge.
